Lake Meritt, Oakland, California, 2012
During the summer of 2012, I took a roadtrip with some college friends that brought us all the way to Oakland, California from Burlington, Vermont. I stumbled upon this cotton-candy sunset after following a protest to save Lakeview Elementary School from closure.
Congress Park, Saratoga Springs, 2018
The Spirit of Life statue in Congress Park was commissioned to honor Spencer Trask and his efforts to conserve Saratoga’s natural springs by Yaddo founder Katrina Trask and George Foster Peabody, business partner of her late husband. The statue holds so much drama and I felt I needed to photograph it at night to fully capture its essence.
Bumble Bee, Vermont, 2017
Homemade Vermont - by Liz Schafer, 2017
My mother commissioned me to photograph one of her collages for a postcard print.
Cambridge (NY) Balloon Festival, 2015

Autumn at Battlefield Park in Lake George, 2016
Killing time between assignments, I decided to explore Battlefield Park. I was the only one to enjoy the site’s foliage on this splendid October afternoon.
Ausable River, Wilmington, NY, 2020
The values of the natural subject matter in this image are what led me to process it in monochrome. I visited this river more than half a dozen times in the summer of 2020 to photograph following making this image, but this still remains my favorite.
Red spotted newt, Hague, 2020
I laughed myself breathless upon finding this young newt peering out of a log at me. Its expression struck me as almost human.
